Live ×1.50

Live

We solve it together, real-time.

What It Is

Live means we're working simultaneously — screen sharing, voice call, or both. I'm solving the problem while you observe, provide context, or assist with physical access. The work is still mine, but your presence is part of the session.

When This Tier Applies

Applies when

  • Real-time troubleshooting requiring your input
  • Screen sharing sessions
  • Debugging with someone on-site at the equipment
  • Configuration changes needing immediate physical verification
  • Situations where your domain knowledge accelerates the fix

Does NOT apply when

  • × The primary goal is teaching you (→ Advisory)
  • × I can do the work faster alone (→ Remote)
  • × Network is down and it's off-hours (→ Emergency)

How a Session Works

  1. 1 We schedule a time for the live session
  2. 2 I confirm scope, estimated hours, and tier
  3. 3 We connect via screen share / voice call
  4. 4 I work while you observe and provide context
  5. 5 We verify the solution together
  6. 6 I invoice based on actual session duration

What Happens If Tier Changes

Escalation from Live

Advisory

Trigger: Session shifts from fixing to teaching

Example: After resolving the issue, you ask me to explain how to handle it yourself next time

Billing: Hours fixing → Live rate. Hours teaching → Advisory rate.

Emergency

Trigger: Scheduled session encounters a critical production issue

Example: Planned config change causes unexpected outage

Billing: Hours before incident → Live rate. Hours in emergency response → Emergency rate.

De-escalation to Live

Remote Live

Trigger: You leave the session and I continue working alone

Example: Debug is done, remaining config work doesn't need your presence

Billing: Hours together → Live rate. Solo hours → Remote rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What tools do we use for screen sharing? +
AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Zoom, Google Meet — whatever you prefer. I'll adapt to your setup.
Does me watching make it more expensive? +
Yes — ×1.5 vs ×1.0. Your presence requires me to explain actions, coordinate timing, and maintain a shared context. That's real cognitive overhead.
Can I switch between watching and stepping away? +
Yes. The tier is timestamped at each transition. Hours where you're present = Live. Hours where I'm solo = Remote.
