Infrastructure Core
Routing & Traffic
Advanced routing architecture: OSPF multi-area, BGP, VPN tunnels, routing filters, VRF — the backbone of any non-trivial network.
The mangle master. Packet classification, QoS, queue trees, bandwidth management — making networks fair and fast.
Security & Access
Near-perfect security score. Firewall architecture, IPsec VPN, certificate management, attack mitigation — the full defensive stack.
Authentication and access control: PPPoE, HotSpot, User Manager, RADIUS integration — managing who gets on your network.
Cross-Domain Synergy
Certification combinations unlock capabilities no single cert provides.
Policy-Based Routing
Unlocks: Routing marks + mangle = multi-WAN traffic engineering
ISP: game traffic on low-latency link, bulk on cheap link. Enterprise: branch office traffic steering by application.
What's missing without this combo?
Without MTCTCE, an MTCRE holder can route packets but can't classify them by protocol, port, or NAT state — mangle marks require both.
VPN Super-Combo
Unlocks: Redundant decentralized VPN: site-to-site + roadwarrior, dual-stack, with user authentication
Multi-office enterprise with remote workers across mixed IPv4/IPv6 networks. Full tunnel redundancy with certificate auth.
What's missing without this combo?
Missing any one cert leaves a gap: no MTCSE = no VPN security, no MTCRE = no tunnel routing, no MTCUME = no user auth, no MTCIPv6E = IPv4-only.
Per-Subscriber QoS
Unlocks: PPPoE auth + HTB shaping = per-user bandwidth management
vISP / hotel: guaranteed per-guest bandwidth with fair queuing. Each subscriber gets their contracted speed.
What's missing without this combo?
MTCUME alone handles authentication but not bandwidth. MTCTCE alone shapes traffic but can't identify individual subscribers.
Wireless Security
Unlocks: WPA2-Enterprise + RADIUS + rogue AP detection
200+ staff office: zero-trust wireless with 802.1X, per-user VLANs, rogue AP monitoring.
What's missing without this combo?
MTCWE without MTCSE can deploy wireless but lacks the security hardening for enterprise environments. MTCSE without MTCWE can secure wired networks but can't architect wireless properly.
Full-Stack RouterOS
Unlocks: Complete mastery across every RouterOS domain
Any challenge: architecture, security, performance, wireless, subscriber management — single expert, zero handoffs.
What's missing without this combo?
Most engineers specialize in 1–3 domains. Full-stack coverage means no knowledge gaps, no "I'll need to bring in someone else for that."

Market Context
Global certification rarity and the Russian freeze.
Since spring 2022, MikroTik (Latvia-based EU company) froze all certification activities for Russia-based engineers. Existing certifications expired without renewal. Most competing engineers in the Russian-speaking market now hold expired, unrenewable credentials.
Deeper market context
Russia was MikroTik's fastest-growing certification market until spring 2022. The freeze permanently locked thousands of engineers out of the certification ecosystem. Certifications that expired during the freeze cannot be renewed.
This creates a certification arbitrage: engineers who relocated outside Russia (or were never Russia-based) can continue certifying while the largest competing talent pool cannot. Nikita renewed in Bangkok while Russia-based peers were locked out.
MikroTik certifications are globally scarce. Unlike Cisco or CompTIA, MikroTik requires in-person, proctored exams at authorized training centers. There are no online exam options, limiting the total number of certified engineers worldwide.
